Oil Spots & Stains

Oil makes food taste good, keeps our baby’s bottoms soft, keeps our skin moist and supple, keeps wood from drying out, ensures a deep, dark tan, and creates great atmosphere in a lamp. Oil serves a great many purposes in our lives, with the unfortunate drawback that oil stains whatever it touches.

Removing oil stains from non-porous surfaces is usually a pretty easy clean up . . . if you do it immediately. A damp soapy sponge is pretty much all you need for getting oil splatters off your stove or off the counter, but if you don’t do it immediately, it can present a problem, like when you have grease build up.

The bigger challenge is, of course, when oil gets on a porous or absorbent material such as fabric, clothing, upholstery, carpet, suede, or leather. The variety of products you may have to deal with includes:
