The Official Goof Off Blog – We All Need To Step Up During Keep America Beautiful Month
Make Your Mark On The World By Removing Graffiti
By Tim Whelan – WM Barr Employee and Goof Off fan
It's April, we're already well into spring and nature is bustling with activity. The grass is starting to turn green, tulips are beginning to emerge, birds are chirping and animals are coming out of winter hibernation.
Nature won't be the only thing bustling with activity this April. That's because it's Keep America Beautiful Month, a time when millions of people look around and find ways to beautify their communities by picking up litter, planting flowers, cleaning waterways and do their best to remove spots and stains from their community.
When I look around my community, I see graffiti as one of its biggest blights. Graffiti — or "tagging" — is a personal pet peeve because it's ugly, destructive and shows that there are vandals in our neighborhoods who totally disregard the rights and property of others.
So while other volunteers do their part to beautify America in a variety of constructive ways, people like me will be focusing my efforts on eradicating graffiti.
Let's face it — it may take a wee bit more time, effort and resources than picking up litter, but if you detest graffiti like I do, you'll find it's well worth it. You'll also find that cleaning graffiti is easier than you might think when you use a product specifically made for the job. Goof Off® Graffiti Remover is my cleaner of choice for a number of reasons:
The most important thing about Keep America Beautiful Month is that we all contribute. You can help by cleaning up your communities unsightly spots and stains, picking up litter, sprucing up a playground, planting trees — or by picking up some Goof Off and fighting graffiti and "tagging" in your neighborhood.
If you'd like to join a community clean-up effort or learn how to organize your own, be sure to visit the Keep America Beautiful web site at www.kab.org.
