Don’t Get Stuck Trying To Remove Sticky Stuff

It’s National Goof Off Day—and what better excuse to roll out the first official Goof Off blog? How are you celebrating Goof Off Day? Playing hooky from work? Gluing your cube mate’s computer mouse to his desk? Eating three square meals of chocolate?

If you’re like me, however you are celebrating, there is a huge chance that while you’re goofing off, you will also be goofing up, whether it’s your floor, your favorite white sweater or your car. So, in honor of the sticky situations you may find yourself in during National Goof Off Day, I’m devoting our first blog to removing sticky stuff with Goof Off Heavy Duty Spot Remover and Degreaser.

Figuring out how to remove sticky stuff used to be one of my most common cleaning challenges; that is before Goof Off came to the rescue. What was my most recent goopy enemy? A lovely hunk of florescent green chewing gum that found its way into my life and cemented onto the bottom of my most beloved pair of black pumps. Ouch!

Never fear, I emerged triumphantly with three simple steps that saved my favorite digs and sanity. And now I pass these secrets along to you. Whatever you find yourself “stepping in” on Goof Off Day, follow these steps to remove sticky stuff and prevent it from goofing up your goof off plans.

1. First remove as much of the gum as you can before you get started. As a helpful tip, I added a little bit of water to the area with a cloth.

2. Next, I applied a small amount of Goof Off Heavy Duty Spot Remover and Degreaser to an inconspicuous area to make sure there weren’t any changes in texture or color. No change! Onto step three.

3. I applied Goof Off to the area and let it stand for a few minutes. Using a damp cloth, I wiped away the excess Goof Off and repeated a couple of times until there was no residue. Goof be gone!

My shoes were saved just in time to don them with my favorite black dress.
